I see where you have avoided the "Virginia" topic completely, NJHoo. And

FxHoo has made an inaccurate response about why Virginia seceded.

Virginia voted for Bell in the 1860 presidential election - about as middle of the road as could be. Virginia's vote not to secede was a choice that left it in a country that was heavily outnumbered when tallying slave versus non slave.

Do either of you know about John Baldwin's discussion with Lincoln while the Virginia convention was in session? I doubt either of you do.

Beat your drum of Virginia seceding to preserve slavery as loud as you like, while repeating the mantra of "white supremacy" and "lost cause", but Virginia switched from its non secession stance to secession due to its refusal to take up arms against the deep southern states - not due to a desire to preserve slavery.
